(With apologies to Philip K. Dick, from whose work the above title was derived.)
It's the 21st Century. So where are the flying cars? The domestic robots? Five hundred-channel digital cable?
Well, two out of three ain't bad.
Domestic robots will now be available to those who can shell out $6,000.00 (U.S.) for a personal, domestic robot.
From the folks in Japan comes "Nuvo", a robot designed to be your personal servant. As you type away on the Internet, he (or it) will get your beer, clean your house, and do your bills. One hopes, at least.
We humans seem to have a thing for making robots that do our bidding. And androids can only become more human as our knowledge of robots advances.
For now, the question I have is: If Nuvo breaks down, who would you call? A service tech -- or Dr. Phil?
