According to The Washington Post, the President may nominate a candidate to replace U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor at 6:00 a.m. this evening (July 19, 2005), Eastern time.
According to MSNBC, the Hon. Edith B. Clement, of the U.S. Fifth Circuit, appears to be the front-runner. However, another strong contender is Judge Edith H. Jones.
Judge Clement is rumored to be currently in Washington, D.C.
