Faced with orders totaling around 850, including 256 firm orders, for its brand-new 787 Dreamliner, the Boeing Company is considering plans to expand manufacturing capabilities for the aircraft several years into production. Implementing such an expansion would require a concerted investment effort on the part of Boeing and its suppliers.
