Political Rhetoric

Most of what passes for political discussion is little more than political rhetoric. Each side of a particular issue is careful only to present that side that it desires considered, often failing to address the legitimate concerns of its opponents.

The idea that more light is generated from this kind of opposition of ideas is a welcome one, but is it always justified? I would say not.

No wonder very little seems to get done in politics. People are too busy arguing past each other.
