Peter Jennings Dead At 67

ABC News anchor Peter Jennings passed away at his apartment in New York today at the age of 67. The Canadian-born journalist had been diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this year and had suspended his appearances on ABC's World News Tonight as he underwent treatment to control the disease. Jennings was a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Comment: Can anyone who has followed the news be unaffected by Jennings' passing? Like him or not, he has been a fixture on the network news for a generation. It is appropriate that his death is marked as the end of an era, as well as the final echoes of an age when the three major entertainment networks ruled the world of broadcast news.
