The MESSENGER space probe has completed a partial orbit around the Earth designed to change and boost its trajectory toward the planet Mercury, according to this article.
The unmanned NASA spaceship is designed to rendezvous with its ultimate destination in 2008 through 2009, ending up in Mercury's orbit in 2011, but will also photograph Venus during flybys in 2006 and 2007, according to the article.
Comment: Bravo to NASA for yet another mission which will reveal new information about two of the closest, and yet least known, of our planetary neighbors.
