Shadows Across The ISS

This is a post about literal shadows observed during today's spacewalk (August 1, 2005).

At one point in the spacewalk, shadows were observed transiting across the entire station, in a scene centered around the spacewalking astronaut. Interestingly, within a space of about ten minutes, two similar shadow transits were seen.

Further, at the time, the ISS-Shuttle combined assembly was not close to a terminator (the boundary between daylight and nighttime), nor was the assembly re-orienting itself.

I'm not sure how this dual shadowing was caused, particularly in such a short time. Any input would be appreciated. I can be reached at EnterpriseFan001@aol.com.
